25 Years of the Internet: Visions of the Past and the Future
Over the past 25 years, the Internet has developed into a universal technology that shapes and influences more and more aspects of our lives and our world. Digital technologies and services offer uncountable possibilities to enhance communication, make industrial processes more efficient, and facilitate mobility and participation even over long distances.
And this is just the beginning. Further digital innovations in connection with artificial intelligence could help us to manage major global challenges like climate crisis and find our path to a more sustainable future. At the same time, we need to talk about how to protect the open and democratic spirit of the world wide web, how to make sure that everybody benefits from the opportunities of digitalization, and how to guarantee both human rights and legal guidelines even in the online world.
How should companies, civil society and politics work together to address major challenges and shape a strong framework for an Internet that serves the people and at the same time offers great business opportunities?
How can we build a common vision of digital transformation, that is responsible, sustainable and innovative at the same time?
That´s the key question we want to discuss during our high level visionary talk with some of the leading masterminds in politics, and digital economy:
