eco International Podcast – Special Edition July 2014

Background

The Internet, it seems, is different. Listen to the German Foreign Minister, Frank-Walter Steinmeier explain why at the opening of EuroDIG 2014, hosted by eco in Berlin in June.

The European Dialog on Internet Governance ran under the slogan of “Digital Society at stake – Europe and the future of the Internet”. Around 700 delegates from 67 countries found themselves in the German Foreign Office on the 12th and 13th of June to debate the future of Internet Governance from a European perspective. The event supported the multi-stakeholder approach to Internet Governance, and multi-stakeholder it was. Representatives from governments, industry, universities, human rights organizations, and the civil society came together to find common European ground. Hear from a few of those stakeholders in this Special Edition eco International Podcast, including the Vice President of the European Commission, Neelie Kroes, Members of the Council of Europe and representatives from the Internet industry.
